What Is Anxiety? Anxiety is an emotional reaction that is often felt very strongly in the body. Symptoms of Anxiety include:




Often these physical symptoms are accompanied by anxious thoughts that are difficult to stop. Sometimes the physical symptoms and anxious thoughts reinforce each other and intensify, leading to a Panic Attack. Symptoms of Panic Attack:





What Causes Anxiety?
Anxiety is NOT caused by personal weakness or a character flaw. Rather it can be triggered by a combination of factors including external stressors or traumas, genetics, and a lack of information or relaxation skills.

Is My Anxiety Normal? For the most part, anxiety is a normal response to life pressures. In fact, anxiety only becomes a problem if it begins to feel outside your control (i.e. despite your best efforts, you are unable to calm down), it has intensified one or more times into a panic attack, or it keeps you from everyday activities.
