Do you feel anxious most of the time, even when there isn't anything obvious to be anxious about?
#2
Are you afraid to talk with people you are in conflict with and notice problems increasing in your relationships?
#3
Are you afraid to leave your house or go to work/school most days?
#4
Is it difficult for you to be social unless you are drinking alcohol or using drugs?
#5
Have you had symptoms of a Panic Attack before (see previous page)?
#6
Do you have lasting and frightening thoughts or images of a traumatic event?
If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, you should consider seeking help.
Can Therapy Help? How? Most of the time therapy really can help! Using a variety of tools - including talk therapy, relaxation techniques, education, and trauma processing - psychotherapy can help you lower your anxiety and regain a sense of control and normalcy in your life. In my practice, I work a great deal with anxiety, helping people like you learn about the causes of their anxiety and how to manage it in healthy, effective ways.
Will I Need Medication? For some people, medication can be a useful or necessary tool for managing anxiety. For others, medication is not necessary. It is best to consult with both your medical doctor and your psychotherapist to determine whether medication is the right choice for you.
